Handcrafted Joy: A Community Papermaking Experience :: August 4-September 30, 2025

From September 2024 through August 2025, Hive Center for the Book Arts partnered with Evanston Public Library to present 9 community papermaking workshops and five BIG READ community tapestry making workshops to the Evanston community through our Year of Joy and Gratitude BIG READ programming.

Handcrafted Joy was the culminating exhibition of the pieces created during these community workshops. Soon, the pieces will be stitched together for a permanent installation at the Main Branch of Evanston Public Library.

We’re grateful to the National Endowment for the Arts and Arts Midwest for their generous support of this project, and other Hive+EPL Year of Joy and Gratitude programming.
